drumroll please!
ladies and gentlemen, i have an announcement.
your girl is now a homeowner! i signed my paperwork yesterday at noon...and my hand is still tired! i have never written my name so many times in one day. but i guarantee it's well worth it. as of this very moment i've been a homeowner for about 12 hours.
i am packing up the place i've been renting for the past few months. i am amazing myself that i'm actually throwing away shit. the packrat in me is working overtime trying to justify keeping things. however, i want to go into my new home with the least amount of crappy shit as possible. for me this is another step in letting go of old junk (physically & mentally) and moving forward.
and yes, pictures are coming. hold onto your drawls yall :)
eta: the pics :)

Handmade jewelry and bath products...crafted from my hands to yours!

Congratulations, sister. I am just as happy are you are. You have taken a strp a lot of us need to make in securing home ownership. Now it's time to let the inner interior decorator out and getting crunk over at the Home Depot, Ikea and Lowes...
Yes, pictures please

hassan: thanks! it really feels good. about a year ago, i wasn't ready to own a house. i got myself in shape financially and decided to make this happen. if i can pay rent to someone else, i can invest in myself. i got something that i am happy to own, something i can grow into and something that won't have me struggling.
i was at home depot and lowe's yesterday about 2 hours after i closed! i am installing wood blinds and i need a refrigerator. i wish we had an ikea.

Loving that kitchen. I can imagine all of the action that'll take place there.
You gon' be living outta HD and Lowe's for the next couple of whatever... Please stop and enjoy it and don't make a huff to fill all of your space up so quickly.
So quaint... Making a brother wanna give up his condo search and go 'house'.

hassan: the kitchen was one of my main reasons for taking the house. i love to cook and i need space. this one is fairly open, so i can do some damage. and i won't be in a rush. but i needed the blinds. i have no coverings and i ain't trying to let the world see all my bizness :)
besides with no blinds, there can't be naked dancing! LOL
miz jj: thanks! i will be posting more as soon as i get moved in. these are from when i was checking out the place.
nikki indigo: thanks girl! i am really excited about this.

First of all, congratulations are maaaaad in order. Funny how you mentioned you'd owned the house only 12 hours and the internet service was up and going! -lol- done like a real trooper..
Second, doesn't it feel like you are signing your life away? When my wife and I went through this a year ago, I swear to you, I thought I was going to fall asleep from signing so many documents. At one point, I even said, the heck with this.. I'm not even reading what these forms were, Just placing my John Hancock on 'em. Great job luv and a nice looking abode...

OH MY GOD BABIE,
I recently had the pleasure of becoming a homeowner myself and yes it feels oh so good (but I feel you on the paperwork). It just makes you want to hang pics all over the wall just because you can with no fear of losing your deposit money. I am loving your dining room. That green paint is where it's at. My first move was to have my place painted and I did my bedroom in the the same green as your dining area.
Congratulations fellow homeowner!!!
